The York Jets SC is proud to announce that 2001 player Ameer Kinani was selected to represent his home country Iraq in the U19 Asia Cup.
In a letter received by the club sent from the Iraq Football Association Deputy General Secretary Tareq A. Ali, he states that Kinani “… is one of the key players of the team”.
Kinani participated in two training camps prior to the U19 Asia Cup. The first camp taking place in two Iraqi cities, Baghdad and Erbil. The second camp was held in three different locations Doha – Qatar, Dubai – UAE, and Riyadh – Saudi Arabia. From his performance in these two camps, Kinani was selected to be a part of the final squad that would participate in the U19 Asia Cup.
Although Kinani and Iraqi squad were unable to qualify for the knock-out phase, it will be an experience and event that will last a life time and add to his development as he pursues his dream to play soccer at the collegiate level and/or professional level.
We are proud to have helped and continue aiding Ameer in his soccer development. We are delighted with his hard work, professionalism and want to congratulate Ameer Kinani as we wish him all the best in the pursuit of his dreams
